WHOOP, There It Is
Hi everyone! Welcome to this week’s installment of Tom’s Top 3 Tuesdays, where I highlight three pieces of content (Podcasts/Shows/Songs/Articles/etc.) that I found interesting or noteworthy from the prior week.
Please toss me a like and share this with as many people as you can!!! Whoever you think might find this newsletter informative, entertaining, funny, idc—just drop them a link. It really helps grow the newsletter, so I greatly appreciate the support!
Chase seems to be playing catch-up with American Express, emulating many aspects of their premium credit cards. For example, the recent revamp and steep price hike of the Sapphire Reserve card allows Chase to better compete with the Amex Platinum.
Now, we have a few new updates to the Sapphire lineup. For a limited time, cardholders of the Sapphire Reserve and Sapphire Preferred can activate offers for a number of wellness products. These include:
Calm Meditation App
Reserve: 100% cash back on 1-year premium membership
Preferred: 50% back
Prenuvo Whole-Body MRI Scan
Reserve: $500 statement credit on $2,499+ purchase
Function Health Lab Testing
Reserve: 50% back after spending $365+
Preferred: 15% back
WHOOP Fitness Tracker
Reserve: $359 back on WHOOP Life annual membership ($359 cost)
Preferred: $100 back on any WHOOP membership
These credits, especially the WHOOP offer, seem directly in response to the $200 Oura Ring credit that was added to the Amex Platinum. I have been intrigued by WHOOP for a while, but the the subscription model has always held me back. If you have the Sapphire Reserve card, there is no harm in getting the WHOOP Life membership to try it out for free for a year.
Just make sure to activate these WHOOP offers in the Chase Offers section of the website or app and use them by May 12. The Calm, Prenuvo, and Function offers expire even earlier, on March 31.

If you are at all interested in the WHOOP membership, whether you have a Chase Sapphire card or not, I think this review is a must-watch to get apprised of the main features and user experience associated with the three different WHOOP membership tiers: One, Peak, and Life.
At a high level, WHOOP has the following benefits:
Sleep tracking
Recovery scores
Strain/Exercise tracking
Biological Age estimator
Intuitive and actionable app interface
Mike makes two major recommendations. He suggests going with the Peak membership ($239 per year) and wearing the strap around your bicep (best data capture and least disruptive).
[YouTube] Star Wars - The Mandalorian and Grogu | Official Trailer | In Theaters May 22

Last week, I hated on the Super Bowl ad for The Mandalorian and Grogu. It was confusing, and it left fans feeling like Disney didn’t believe in the film.
Well, I am excited to say that they successfully pulled me back in with today’s release of the new and expanded trailer. This trailer gives me a new hope for the movie (pun most certainly intended).
I was maybe most excited by seeing the live-action appearance of the bounty hunter Embo. For a full breakdown of the trailer and all of the Easter Eggs, feel free to check out this video by Star Wars Explained.
If you made it to this point, drop a comment to say hi. And as always, please like and consider sharing with a friend who you think would enjoy! I’ll be back next week. ✌️
